Spring

Spring

Spring in Vermont is a great time to rejuvenate after a long winter. Each day brings transformation to the natural surroundings of the Windham Country House, creating a revitalizing atmosphere at this Vermont rental property.

As the snow melts away, flowers push through the recently frozen ground. The trees bud with new growth in brilliant greens, yellows, and reds, creating Vermont’s "other color season." Birds sing their romantic songs, find their mates, and nest. The cold weather disappears, yet temperatures remain delightfully cool.

RELAX and RENEW - Spring at the Windham Country House is short, running from mid-April through May. Locals know the early weeks of spring as Mud Season, for the newly thawed gravel roads can be a challenge to drive. But ask the owners of this vacation rental what season they like best, and they'll say spring. It's the time when life is renewed.

For most Windham Country House guests who are here in the spring, the things to do in Vermont are simple - relax, watch Mother Nature, relax, hang out at the country house, relax, enjoy what the region offers year-round (if you feel you must do something), and relax some more.

DAM RELEASE - One spring-time activity that might get you up and out is the dam release at Ball Mountain. Each spring, the dam waters are released into the West River, creating rushing, white water. Rafters and kayakers come here from all over to test their skills. It's a treat to watch them from the lovely trails near the river. The Windham Country House is also available for folks energetic enough to be on the water!

There's another reason to come to Vermont in spring - the Windham Country House rates, which are always affordable rates, are at their very lowest!
