Directions

FROM BOSTON:

• Take Route 2 or the turnpike to Interstate 91 North.
• After entering Vermont, take Exit 2 for Brattleboro.
• Turn left on Route 9 (Western Ave.)
• See directions below for "From Brattleboro".

FROM NEW YORK CITY OR CONNECTICUT:

• Take 95 northeast to New Haven.
• Then take Interstate 91 North.
• Or take Route 84 East to Hartford.
• Then take Interstate 91 North.
• After entering Vermont, take Exit 2 for Brattleboro.
• Turn left on Route 9 (Western Avenue).
• See directions below for "From Brattleboro".

FROM BRATTLEBORO:

• Follow the signs from Rt. 9 East to Rt. 30 North.
• OR to avoid downtown Brattleboro traffic – turn left on Cedar St (the 5th street on the left), and follow Cedar St. to the end; then turn left onto Rt. 30 North.
• Follow Route 30 North for approximately 21 miles.

• You will slow down to go through Newfane and again to go through Townshend.
• In Townshend, be sure to stay on Rt. 30 near the town green, by taking a sharp left; do not go straight onto Rt. 35.

• You will slow down again for West Townshend. Prepare to turn right to go to Windham.
• Look on the right for a long wooden fence and a long reddish brown building.
• Immediately after these, take a sharp right and go up the hill on Windham Hill Road.

• Follow Windham Hill Rd. for just over 4 miles.
• At the 3 mile mark, you'll see an entrance to Old Cheney Road on your left.
> DO NOT TAKE THIS TURN as this part of the road is not maintained.
• Continue to Burbee Pond Road and turn left.
• Follow Burbee Pond Road for about 1/2 mile.
• At Old Cheney Road, turn left.
• Windham Country House is 8/10 mile on the right at 1113 Old Cheney Road.
• You have arrived!

FROM ALBANY, NY:

• Take Interstate 87 or Interstate 787 North to NY Rt. 7.
• Head east on NY Rt. 7 to US Rt. 7 North. (Use the shortcut to avoid Bennington.)
• Go north on US 7 toward Manchester to Rt. 11 (about 20 miles).
• Take Rt. 11 east to Londonderry (about 15 miles)
• Continue east on Rt. 11 past Londonderry for 4 miles.
• Turn right onto Rt. 121 to Windham.
• See directions below for "From Route 121".

FROM POINTS NORTH VIA I-91:

• Take US Interstate 91 South.
• Go to either Exit 7 or Exit 6 in Vermont.
> Exit 7 puts you on Rt. 11, takes you through Springfield, and is the shorter way by distance.
> Exit 6 puts you on Rt. 103, avoids the stop lights and traffic in Springfield, and is slightly shorter by time.
• Take either route west to Chester.
• Take Rt. 11 west out of Chester.
• Go about 9 miles to Rt. 121 – after the sign for Tater Hill Golf, look for the sign for Rt. 121.
• Turn left onto Rt. 121.

FROM POINTS NORTH VIA VERMONT ROUTE 7:

• Take Route 7 south to Rutland.
• Go through Rutland about 6 miles to Rt. 103 South.
• Take 103 south to East Wallingford.
• At East Wallingford, take Rt. 155 till it deadends on Rt. 100.
• Take Rt. 100 south toward Londonderry to Rt. 11.
• Turn left onto Rt. 11 East (the signs will say “To Chester”).
• Go about four miles to Rt. 121.
• Turn right onto Rt. 121 to Windham.
• See directions below for "From Route 121".

FROM ROUTE 121:

• Go 2 miles east on Rt. 121 and turn right onto Windham Hill Road at the 4-way intersection.
> If Rt. 121 turns to gravel, you have just missed your turn.
• Go about 4 miles.
• Just past the town office and elementary school on your left, turn right onto Burbee Pond Road.
• Go two miles past the pond and up the little hill, and at the group of mailboxes, turn right on Old Cheney Road.
• The Windham Country House is 8/10 mile on the right at 1113 Old Cheney Road.
• You have arrived!
